DPO was founded by Barry Morcom, a seasoned tradesman whose career began in carpentry and plastering. After recognising a growing demand for high-quality plasterboard products, Barry acquired a PlastaMasta store in Campbelltown. Rapid expansion followed, with new locations in Smithfield, Canberra, and Darwin, establishing DPO as a trusted name in the plasterboard industry.

In 2011, after 17 years, Barry rebranded as Direct Plasterboard Outlet, marking our proud transition to independence and a renewed commitment to supplying premium plasterboard to the industry. Known for our iconic orange sheds, DPO now operates 10 stores across New South Wales, Queensland, the ACT, and the Northern Territory, solidifying our reputation as a leading supplier for over 30 years. 2025 saw us move into our purpose-built Newcastle store in Beresfield. Continuing to expand our national footprint. With expert support, competitive pricing, and tailored trade services, DPO remains committed to revolutionising the contractor experience and setting new standards in the plasterboard supply industry.
