DPO director Bary Morcom with Chaz Mostert at the Hidden Valley V8 Supercars round.
DPO’s Palmerston store customers and staff will have a ‘local’ to cheer on in the V8 Supercars round at Hidden Valley Raceway this weekend.
Ford team driver Chaz Mostert’s helmet will bear DPO logos at the Darwin round, marking the start of a personal sponsorship deal with the young race ace.
Chaz is one of Australian motorsport’s rising stars. Last year, in only his second season in the top-level V8 Supercars series, he won the Bathurst 1000 with veteran driver Paul Morris.
He’s no stranger to DPO, having co-driven the DPO-Rondo BMW 335i successfully in long-distance production touring car racing in the past. In 2011 and 2012 he paired with fellow young gun racer Nathan Morcom, who is DPO’s operations manager, to take outright and class wins in rounds of the Australian Production Car Endurance Championship.
Now the DPO logo will feature on Chaz’s helmet as he challenges for the V8 Supercars title.
DPO Director Barry Morcom, a former racer himself, welcomed Chaz back to the DPO fold.
“We’re proud to have helped Chaz early in his racing career, and now he’s one of V8 Supercars’ new generation of stars,” Barry said. “I’m looking forward to seeing the DPO logo on the podium on a regular basis this year!”
